Interim Vice President of Human Resources

California Pacific Medical Center is a $670M, private, not-for-profit academic
medical center, the largest in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Head of HR,
leading the 25-employee HR function to achieve service excellence, reporting
to the SVP of Operations.

 Led the creation of HR and management strategies with CEO and
executive team, defined role and positioning of HR.
 Rebuilt and reorganized HR team, tools, and processes, to enable new
corporate goals.  
 Designed and implemented compensation, training, and performance
management, resulting in better motivated, developed, managed, and
rewarded workforce of 5,000 diverse and specialized employees, in 4 union
environment.  
 Defined and led new employee and union relations philosophy and
policies; resolved heated union issues with Teamsters L665, Engineers L39,
CNA, and SEIU Local 250 (25% organized workforce); worked with the NLRB.
 Increased HR and overall compliance with outside bodies, including
JCAHO, HIPAA, EDD, OSHA, IRS, INS.
 Defined environmental success factors and VPHR profile.  Helped select
and orient a permanent VP of HR.
